Each spring, Lithic Roots opens our greenhouse for a limited season of live plants—medicinal herbs, culinary favorites, and heirloom veggies grown in living soil using regenerative, pesticide-free practices. These are not just starts—they’re beginnings of wellness, flavor, and connection.

Kitchen Essentials

Rosemary (Hill Hardy & Arp)

Evergreen and drought-tolerant, rosemary adds beauty, fragrance, and robust flavor to every dish. Zone 7 perennial varieties!

Thyme

Compact and resilient, thyme offers savory notes and antimicrobial properties that make it a kitchen must-have. Hardy Perennial

Horseradish

Not a horse or a radish but this zone 7 hardy perennial has a fiery root that livens up sauces and deters garden pests.

Lemongrass

A bold tropical accent with citrus aroma; ideal for teas, soups, and natural mosquito deterrence. Zone 7 tender perennial – mulch roots heavy for a strong return in the spring. 

Basil

Summer’s most versatile herb, from sweet Italian to sacred Ayurvedic traditions. Zone 7 Annual – gather seeds and grow again and again. 

Nature’s Medkit

Comfrey

A regenerative powerhouse that feeds your soil and supports skin-healing salves and compost teas. Hardy zone 7 perennial, give it some afternoon shade during the hottest parts of summer. Harvest leaves in spring & summer or roots in fall & winter. 

Calendula

Cheerful orange blooms that soothe skin, attract beneficial insects, and reseed themselves for effortless color. Summer annual, grows best in spring and fall with cooler temps. Keep cutting back blooms for more and more. 

Self-heal (Heal all)

A humble groundcover with purple blooms once used for wound care and immune support. It’s native to the USA and likes some afternoon shade during the hottest parts of Tulsa’s summer. This mint family plant will happily spread throughout yards and return year after year.  

Yarrow (Red, White & Summer Berries)

A drought-tolerant healer that supports pollinators and offers traditional use for skin healing and circulatory support. This perennial will happily take over areas of the garden but appreciates some summer heat protection. Best blooms in the spring and fall. 

Mugwort & Wormwood

Silvery herbal companions that aid digestion, deter pests, and add texture to your garden borders. Hardy perennial in zone 7 and these plants LOVE the hot sun. 

Pollinator Favorites

Lavender

Fragrant, drought-tolerant, and irresistible to pollinators — the ultimate sensory garden staple. Zone 7 perennial although some support through the winter cold is always appreciated. 

Hyssop

A nectar-rich herb for bees and hummingbirds, supporting respiratory health and old-world charm. Hardy Zone 7 Perennial

Echinacea (Coneflower)

Native to the Plains, prized for immune support and vibrant summer blooms loved by butterflies. Returns as a hardy perennial in zone 7 once established. 

Passion vine/fruit/flower

A stunning native climber whose flowers feed Gulf Fritillary butterflies and bring calming herbal uses. Hardy perennial that will grow in places you know you never planted it!

Canna lily (Musifolia)

This variety grows bold, tropical looking foliage up to 12 feet tall and bright red flowers that provide visual drama and nectar for hummingbirds. Loves the direct summer sun and returns year after year in zone 7.
